On this day in Liverpool FC’s history is where we will relive some of the more famous events that have helped shape the history and fabric of our great club.
6th May 1997
Michael Owen becomes Liverpool’s youngest goalscorer when he scores away at Wimbledon at Selhurst Park aged just 17 years and 144 days. His goal however, 16 minutes after coming on as substitute, was not enough to give Liverpool the points as they lost 2-1.
6th May 1980
Bob Paisley wins yet another Division One title, this time finishing two points ahead of Manchester United. It was fitting that the record-holders Liverpool should clinch the Division One title in its 100th competitive season. It was Liverpool’s 12th Championship success.
5th May 1979
Bob Paisley clinched his third Division One title as Liverpool manager as they win the League for the 11th time.
