No Liverpool fan could ever say that Luis Suarez has not pulled his weight in a red shirt. As much as we all love him, surely no Liverpool fan could ever begrudge him the chance to play in the Champions League. Hopefully, he will stay but if he goes he would not deserve any backlash from the fans in the same way as Fernando Torres. I’m not saying that Torres deserved the stick he got, but to all Liverpool fans it was obvious that he didn’t try a leg in the last 12 months or so he was at Anfield.
One of last performances in the 1-0 home defeat to Wolves at the back end of December 2010 was appalling with all of the post match Opta Stats suggesting that he wasn’t interested.
As mentioned, the same can’t be said for Luis Suarez. His effort and enthusiasm rubs off on all around him. We are so lucky to have him, let’s hope he stays for many years to come.
