Guardian: Reds make bid for Coutinho – Liverpool FC

The article below has also been reported in the Liverpool Echo. When that happens it can be assumed that the link is more than just tittle-tattle. As a general guide, if the Liverpool Echo or the Liverpool Daily Post report on a subject then invariably there is more substance than speculation in the report.

Coutinho, like other transfer targets before him, ticks all the boxes as far as the owners are concerned. He is young (only 20 years of age) and as such will have a resale value. He has pace and plenty of skill so if he does sign he will only add to the young, skillful crop of players at Brendan Rodgers disposal. We at Fields Of Anfield Road just hope however that his signing does not stifle the progress of some of the other up and coming youngsters in Liverpool’s reserves.
