Great news yesterday with the confirmation that Daniel Agger has committed himself to a long term, new Liverpool contract. As Brendan Rodgers says, he is one of the best defenders in world football. He reads the game well, good in the air, strong tackler and, very importantly for Liverpool’s new style of football, he can bring the ball out from defence. He is so vital for Liverpool that it would be difficult to imagine who we could replace him with if he had chosen to move on in this summer’s transfer window.
To top it all, Agger is very committed to the club and clearly loves being with us. A fact reflected in his latest, new “YNWA” tattoo.
