After so many games over the last few seasons where we have totally outplayed teams, often racking up 20+ shots but still managing to not win the game, it was a pleasant surprise to win a game where we were not the better team. Many Liverpool fans have commented on our inability to “win ugly”. Losing so many games when playing well and almost to lose any game when we did not play well.
Let’s be honest, Tottenham were the better side yesterday and they must be kicking themselves, especially as Liverpool’s second and third goals were as a result of mistakes they had made.
Maybe, we are now seeing a new, more ruthless streak being instilled in the side. Yet again Luis Suarez had a great game and took his goal so well. I just wish he would cut out some of the niggly stuff that creeps into his game. Having said that, sometimes a bit of a mean streak adds another dimension to some players game.
A great win for Liverpool. It gives us some hope for a top four finish, although it still does look like a long shot. But while there is still hope, we should carry on believing.
