A week on and I’m still smarting. But getting there. Quite a few things happened on this day 2nd June in days gone by. Two birthdays, a new contract signing and a new player. First, the birthdays.

Has everyone calmed down now after the euphoria of Tuesday night? What a great night. What a great result. One of Liverpool’s finest away European performances to add to the many others. Now things have calmed down a bit, all eyes on this Saturday when we play Bournemouth at Anfield.

I remember this game as well – Liverpool 2, Coventry 3. Peter Ndlovu, the Coventry striker, ripped Liverpool’s defence to shreds that night.
