Liverpool: Reds Secure Sahin On Loan

Well that was a real "will he, won't he" saga wasn't it. At first it looked nailed on that Sahin would be a Liverpool player. There was talk about Jose Mourinho and Xabi Alonso trying to persuade him to sign for us, so if that was the case Liverpool seemed to be in the driving seat to secure his services. But then Arsenal's interest intensified after Alex Song was sold to Barcelona and then it seemed that he was Emirates Stadium bound. What happened after that to swing it back Liverpool's will no doubt be a topic on many websites and forums.

The important thing however, is that Nuri Sahin is now a Liverpool player and if he is anywhere as good as many of the reports about him suggest then he will be a great acquisition. Whether he stays beyond his season-long loan is a discussion point for the future.

Welcome to Liverpool Nuri Sahin. YNWA!!

Liverpool: Reds Secure Sahin On Loan

"A statement today on the club's official website Liverpoolfc.com confirmed the news and began: "Liverpool Football Club have reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign Nuri Sahin on a season-long loan deal, subject to the player passing a medical." …"

Nuri Sahin was the Bundesliga player of the season for 2010/11 when he starred for Borussia Dortmund as they powered to the Bundesliga title. This form saw Real Madrid swoop for the Turkish midfielder but an injury in pre-season saw him sidelined for the first three months of the La Liga season. When he was back fit he found it difficult to get a regular place in Real Madrid's star studded midfield. Let us hope that he is raring to go and hits the ground running. I must admit I haven't seen much of Sahin, so if most of you are in the same boat then why not check out the video compilation we have of him below.
