Settle For The Draw

Villa 0, Liverpool 0. What a dull, boring game. As the home team Villa offered very little indeed and I really think that were there for the taking. That is, of course, if we showed any real attacking intentions and played players in their proper positions. Can anyone remember Robbie Keane tearing up any trees at Tottenham as a left winger? No, nor me. Why does Rafa always play square pegs in round holes.

Also, why didn’t Babel get a look in? We paid a lot of money for him as a striker only to use him as a bit-part ledt winger. Many punditd are forecasting that this is a “make-or-break” season for Babel but how is he going to make a go of it sat on the bench. The situation was ideal for him after Torres went off injured.

The quality of the football is mind0numbingly dull and yet we are undefeated so I suppose we shouls be grateful. Mind you, more and more Liverpool fans I talk to are getting a bit fed up of Rafa’s team selections and tactics.

Early days so lets not get carried away. But it would be nice to see a shift to a more positive style of football. We have the players. All it needs is for the manager to let them express themselves more. What better game to show more adventure than Man Utd on September 13th.

Go for it Rafa.
