Liverpool sign goalkeeper Ray Clemence from Scunthorpe United for £18,000. He took over as number one from Tommy Lawrence and he went to play in all but six games in an eleven year spell. In his time at Liverpool, Clemence went on to win a host of awards including three European Cups and five Division One titles. He spent 14 years in total at Anfield and made665 appearances for the club.
