On This Day 2nd June
A week on and I’m still smarting. But getting there. Quite a few things happened on this day 2nd June in days gone by. Two birthdays, a new contract signing and a new player. First, the birthdays.
Looking Forward
As disappointing as Saturday night was, let’s not take lose sight of the fact that we have taken another step forward in our development under Jurgen Klopp. So, looking forward there are many plus points to take on board. As a starter, how many fans would have taken a top four finish and a Champions […]
On This Day 23rd May
On this day 23rd May we have mixed feelings regarding trophy success. First the successful news. On this day 23rd May 1973 we lost 2-0 against Borussia Monchengladbach in the second leg of the UEFA Cup Final. However, having won the first leg 3-0, we went on to collect the trophy.
On This Day 19th May
Into that “Gathering Cups In May” time of year again. What was it this time? Well, on this day 19th May 1976 we were gathering the UEFA Cup. Our opponents again were Club Brugge. They must have been sick of the sight of us in the 70’s!!! Unlike the European Cup, the UEFA Cup (now […]
Cup Final Tickets
Congratulations to all those that have now been informed and actually acquired their Champions League Final tickets. Although I qualified for the ballot I didn’t get one. No worries. It happens. Having been to the last three European Finals I can say that on the one hand it as an absolutely brilliant experience. However, on […]
Champions League Draw
Just a quick post to comment on the news that all Liverpool fans are currently talking about. The Champions League draw saw us paired with the only other English survivor, Manchester City. To many this would have made a great final.
On This Day 13th November
On this day 13th November 1974 we signed one of my favourite players. A player that rightly went on to enjoy legendary status with us. Step forward the one and only Terry McDermott. Think of the most industrious, hard working, energetic midfielder you can imagine, then compare those attributes to those McDermott displayed week in, […]
Liverpool Write A Piece Of History
Well, it finally happened didn’t it. We’ve been saying for a few weeks that someday, someone will get a good pasting from us. Sadly for Maribor it was them. Everything seemed to click as Liverpool write a piece of history. Already holding the Champions League record for their 8-0 home win against Besiktas in 2007, […]
Whats In Reserve
Going to first team matches enables fans to see at first hand the talent available to Jurgen Klopp. But beneath the first XI, whats in reserve? Are there any budding Sadio Mane’s or Adam Lallana’s? Do we have any up and coming centre backs capable of challenging current incumbents, Matip, Klavan and Lovren? Liverpool 4, […]
