As the Champions League Final gets ever closer, more and more new Liverpool songs are emerging. Liverpool fans have always been well known for their original and wide variety of songs. Not only the fans though, the players have also contributed to the ever growing list of Liverpool songs.

How are your heads today? Mine is a bit delicate. A few too many beers but why not? How often do we get to celebrate reaching a Champions League final? Funny I should say that. Why’s that? Well, on this day 3rd May is another special date in our illustrious history.

As it’s Champions League (or as I still call it, European Cup) semi-final week I thought it was worth remembering a very special European game from the 1976/77 season. Liverpool fans of a certain age will always fondly recall the quarter final second leg on 16th March 1977.
Anfield European Nights
The list just goes on and on doesn’t it. Another one of those fabulous Anfield European nights last night against AS Roma. The whole ground was rocking throughout. Just in case you’ve been living under a rock, last night was the semi final first leg of the Champions League.
On This Day 17th April
With West Brom up next for The Reds, it may be worth remembering on this day 17th April. Kenny Dalglish scored the winner on this day 17th April 1982 against The Baggies at Anfield. Kenny’s 71st minute strike earned Liverpool a ninth consecutive victory.

All Liverpool fans know only too well the significance of what happened on this day 15th April. The exact date of course was on this day 15th April, 1989. Twenty nine years to the day when in the region of 25,000 Liverpool fans attended a football match, but 96 did not make it home.
